Sheriffs;security,responsibilityforacts,ineligibilityforotheroffice. Sec.6.Thesheriffmayberequiredbylawtorenewhissecurityperiodicallyandindefault ofgivingsuchsecurity,hisofficeshallbevacant.Thecountyshallneverberesponsibleforhis acts, except that the board of supervisors may protect him against claims by prisoners for unintentional injuries received while in his custody.
