Convictionsforcertainfelonies;eligibilityforelectiveofficeorcertainpositions ofpublicemployment. Sec.8.Apersonisineligibleforelectionorappointmenttoanystateorlocalelectiveofficeof thisstateandineligibletoholdapositioninpublicemploymentinthisstatethatispolicy-making or that has discretionary authority over public assets if, within the immediately preceding 20years,thepersonwasconvictedofafelonyinvolvingdishonesty,deceit,fraud,orabreachofthe publictrustandtheconvictionwasrelatedtotheperson’sofficialcapacitywhilethepersonwas holdinganyelectiveofficeorpositionofemploymentinlocal,state,orfederalgovernment.This requirementisinadditiontoanyotherqualificationrequiredunderthisconstitutionorbylaw.
