494.435. Panel exhausted, other jurors summoned. — Whenever there is an unanticipated shortage of available petit jurors drawn from a qualified jury list, the court may require the sheriff or a jury supervisor to summon a sufficient number of petit jurors from bystanders. If any party objects to bystanders being summoned, additional jurors shall be selected at random from the qualified jury list. (L. 1989 S.B. 127, et al.)
