FRANCHINI, SUPERINTENDENT OF INSURANCE DATE: JUNE 14, 2016 RE: STOP LOSS DATA CALL THE FOLLOWING BULLETIN is issued pursuant to NMSA 1978, § 59A-4-3 of the New Mexico Insurance Code, and NMAC 13.1.2. et seq. The New IVIexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance is conducting a survey to obtain New Mexico-specific data on medical stop loss insurance coverage information. New Mexico's Insurance Code grants the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance the authority to regulate medical stop loss coverage under N.M.S.A, § 59A-15-16. Pursuant to this statute and the Superintendent's authority to conduct market surveys and inquires under N.M.S.A. 1978, § 59A-4-3, NM OSI requires insurance carriers selling medical stop loss coverage in the state between March 1, 2015 and April 15, 2016, to answer the following survey questions, If you have not done so already, please fill out the survey linked below by Thursday, July 7,2016. If you have a question about whether your company has completed the survey, please contact Paige Duhamel at paiee.duhamel@state.nm.us. A .pdf version of the survey is available for your review before providing answers in the Survey Monkey application. Please email Michael Worthen at michael.worthen@state.nm.us for a copy of the .pdf survey. Please fill out the survey at the Survey Monkey link. Do NOT submit the answers in any document file format.
