To expedite the licensing process, all applicants are now required to apply using the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) online application process. Individuals and business entities may access and submit the resident and non-resident license applications at www.nipr.com. Applicable fees must be submitted electronically with the license application. Paper application may only be used by applicants who are unable to apply online. All paper applications must be accompanied by an explanation describing why an online application is not possible. Please be advised that the paper licensing process will take considerably longer than the electronic method. The New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance requires resident applicants to pass the applicable insurance exam prior to submitting their license application. If you attempt to apply prior to passing the exam, your application will be automatically rejected. Due to changes in legislation, licenses will now be issued with a biennial expiration date determined by the birth month. DONE and ORDERED this 9th day of August, 2017. JOHN G.
