Section 18. Temporary Guardianship/Conservatorship

A. In emergency situations the court may appoint a temporary guardian/conservator prior to a hearing on a petition. B. The department may petition the court to appoint a temporary guardian/conservator. C. The adult is served within 24 hours of the appointment of a temporary guardian/conservator. D. If subsequently granted to the temporary guardian/conservator by the court, the authority of any previously court appointed permanent guardian or conservator is suspended.
