§ 28-16C-2. Definitions

As used in the Special Education Ombud Act: A. “ council ” means the developmental disabilities planning council; B. “ office ” means the office of the state special education ombud; C. “ parent ” includes a legal guardian or custodian who has custody and control of a student or an individual who has legal authority to make educational decisions on behalf of the student; D. “ state ombud ” means the state special education ombud; and E. “ student ” means a public school student receiving or seeking special education services.
