§ 75-5-607. Appointment of physician, psychologist, physician assistant, or court visitor.

(1) (a) The court may appoint a physician, a psychologist, or a physician assistant to examine the respondent. (b) If the court appoints a physician. a psychologist, or a physician assistant under Subsection (1)(a), the physician, psychologist, or physician assistant shall submit a report in writing to the court. (2) The court may appoint a court visitor to: (a) interview the individual seeking appointment as guardian of the respondent; (b) visit the present place of abode of the respondent and the place proposed where the respondent will be detained or reside if a guardian is appointed; or (c) conduct other investigations or observations as directed by the court.
