§ 20A-3a-106. Rulemaking authority relating to conducting an election.

The director of elections, within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, may make rules, in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, establishing requirements for: (1) a return envelope, to ensure uniformity and security of the envelopes; (2) complying with the signature comparison audit requirements described in Section 20A-3a-402.5; (3) conducting and documenting the identity verification process described in Subsection 20A-3a-401(7)(b); or (4) establishing specific requirements and procedures for an election officer to: (a) perform the signature comparison audits described in Subsection 20A-9-408(9)(e); or (b) fulfill the chain of custody requirements described in Section 20A-9-408.3.
