“Promoting a healthy economy and strong communities” BULLETIN B 03-05 TO: ALL PRODUCERS AND BROKERS WRITING WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE POLICIES IN THE STATE OF ALASKA AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES RE: WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE PLAN SERVICING CARRIERS By Order R 02-11, the Director of Insurance authorized the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. (NCCI), as the administrator of the Alaska Workers Compensation Insurance Plan (WCIP), to enter into new three-year contracts with two insurers to act as servicing carriers for the WCIP for the term January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2005. Alaska National Insurance Company and Liberty Northwest Insurance Corporation have agreed to act as the servicing carriers for this three-year term under the terms of Order R 02-11. NCCI will manage new assignments and renewals of existing WCIP policies to ensure that the continuity, quality, and cost effectiveness of WCIP services are maintained. This includes having each servicing carrier offer renewals to their assigned policyholders during the terms of their servicing carrier contracts. To the extent possible, approximately 20 percent of the total assigned risk premium will go to Liberty Northwest Insurance Corporation during the first year of the contract.
