Noll, Commissioner Division of Insurance BULLETIN B 06-06 TO: ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES TRANSACTING CONSUMER CREDIT INSURANCE IN THE STATE OF ALASKA AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES RE: CONSUMER CREDIT INSURANCE REPORTING FORM As stated in 3 AAC 28.370(b), “Every three years beginning in 2003, an insurer writing consumer credit insurance in this state shall file with the director on or before May 1 a report of consumer credit insurance in this state for the three previous years, on a form prescribed by the director.” This bulletin contains the prescribed reporting forms that insurers must use to report the information required under 3 AAC 28.370. If your company has written or reported any credit insurance premium in Alaska in 2003, 2004, or 2005 and your company has not already filed the required forms with the division, the division has extended the deadline for filing the forms to June 30, 2006. The bulletin and prescribed reporting form are available on the Internet. To access this survey on the Internet, go to the Alaska Division of Insurance web page at www.commerce.state.ak.us/insurance/bulletins/bulletins.htm. Select Bulletin B 06-06 or the “Consumer Credit Reporting Form.” The survey form can be completed in Microsoft Excel as follows: 1. Open “2006 Consumer Credit Report.xls” and save to your hard drive. 2. Open Microsoft Excel and the document you just saved. 3. Fill in the data requested on the survey form and save the document. 4. E-mail the completed document as an attachment to insinfo@commerce.state.ak.us. Your completed survey should be e-mailed as above or may be mailed to: Director, Alaska Division of Insurance, P.O. Box 110805, Juneau, AK 99811-0805. As required under 3 AAC 28.370(b)(1), before sending the completed forms to the division please verify that the premium and claim data reported in the forms balance to the premium and claim data reported in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners Annual Statement Consumer Credit Insurance Exhibit for Alaska.
