Please ensure that your organization is fully compliant with Alaska's external review regulations under 3 AAC 28.950 - 3 AAC 28.982. The division has registered 10 nationally accredited Independent Review Organizations (IR Os) to handle the caseload. Health care insurers are encouraged to review Bulletin 18-05, issued March 14, 2018, and Bulletin 18- 10, issued July 3, 2018, for additional details. The division will utilize the SBS Connect system established and maintained through the National Association oflnsurance Commissioners (NAIC) to track external health care reviews and provide a platform for secure electronic document sharing between the health insurance carrier, the IRO, and the division.
