Form and Rate Suspension

BULLETIN TO: ALL ALABAMA-LICENSED INSURERS FROM: WALTER A. BELL COMMISSIONER DATE: SEPTEMBER 21, 2004 RE: FORM AND RATE SUSPENSION ______________________________________________________________________ Due to the effects of Hurricane Ivan throughout our state, the Alabama Department of Insurance must temporarily allocate most of its resources to assisting adversely affected consumers. Because of staffing constraints, we request your assistance by not submitting any additional rate, rule, or form filings to the Life & Health Division or the Property & Casualty Division until October 25. Additionally, we are suspending review of any filings currently in this office until October 25. If the situation stabilizes, we will lift the suspension prior to the end of the 30-day period. Should the situation remain as it is, there is the possibility the suspension will be extended. Your cooperation and patience during this temporary suspension is greatly appreciated. WAB/RI/bc
