Ridling Commissioner of Insurance JLR DATE: September 10, 2010 EFFECTIVE: September 23, 2010 RE: Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act In addition to the requirements of the Department of Insurance Bulletin dated June 23, 2000, all health insurance group master policies, group certificates and individual policies used in the State of Alabama must comply with all applicable health insurance requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148), as amended, at the time those requirements become effective. Any group master policy, group certificate or individual policy subject to that Act that fails to meet those requirements will be disapproved for use in this state.
