Ridling Commissioner of Insurance JLR DATE: January 25, 2019 RE: Federal Shutdown EFFECTIVE: Immediate The partial federal government shutdown began December 22, 2018, and continues to be in effect. The Alabama Department of Insurance is aware there may be some Alabama residents who have been adversely affected by the shutdown. Therefore, this department is supportive of any efforts insurers may choose to implement to allow those policyholders to be reasonably accommodated, such as providing payment plans or extensions for premium payments.
