Gamer Insurance Commissioner BULLETIN NO. 6-83 June 27, 1983 TO: ALL DISABILITY INSURERS LICENSED IN THE STATE OF ARKANSAS FROM: ARKANSAS INSURANCE DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: ACT 357 OF 1983 This Department has received several inquiries regarding the implementation of Act 357 of 1983. The Act will become effective July 4, 1983. Act 357 requires all disability policies which cover the insured and members of the insured's family to include coverage for well baby care. 1. The Act requires all individual policies to conform to this act as of July 4, 1983, and requires all group contracts to conform to the provisions of this Act by the first anniversary date after July 4, 1983. 2. Coverage required by this Act cannot be waived and it is not permissible to charge an additional premium for this coverage. 3. The Act requires payment for normal and customary physician visits to the hospital as well as hospital charges.
