8 CAR § 60-418. Run-on/run-off control systems

(a) Applicability. As provided in 40 C.F.R. § 258.15, owners or operators must design, construct, and maintain: (1) A run-on control system to prevent flow onto the active portion of the landfill during the peak discharge from a twenty-four-hour, twenty-five-year (return frequency) storm; and (2) A run-off control system from the active portion of the landfill to collect and control at least the water volume resulting from a twenty-four-hour, twenty-five-year storm. (b) Active portion runoff. Run-off from the active portion of a Class 1 landfill unit as defined in 8 CAR § 60-106 must be handled in accordance with 8 CAR §§ 60-419 and 60-429.
