9 CAR § 30-413. Continued training of foster parents

(a) Each therapeutic foster parent shall complete at least twenty-four (24) hours of skill-based training annually, excluding CPR and first aid. (b) Documentation verifying annual training shall indicate the: (1) Date; (2) Number of hours; (3) Name of the source; (4) Topic; and (5) Title. (c)(1) Each foster parent shall maintain a current certificate of successful completion of hands-on, skill-based CPR and first aid. (2) Training and certification that is provided solely online will not be accepted. (d) Foster parents shall participate in ongoing training to receive instruction that: (1) Supports their parental roles; and (2) Ensures the foster parent is up-to-date with agency and licensing requirements. (e) Note. Annual training may include without limitation: (1) Child-specific training; or (2) Issues relevant to the general population of children in foster care.
