R20-4-1507. Representations of Collection Agency’s Identity

In all communications with debtors, either orally or in writing, all the following rules apply: 1. A collection agency shall represent itself as a collection agency, 2. A collection agency shall not directly or indirectly claim to be a credit reporting agency or credit bureau if it is not, 3. A collection agency shall not directly or indirectly claim to be a law enforcement agency, and 4. A collection agency shall not directly or indirectly claim to be a law firm.
