R20-5-225. Guardian Ad-Litem Definitions

With respect to A.R.S. § 23-1066, the following definitions apply: June 30, 2026 Supp. 26-2 Page 25 20 A.A.C. 5 Arizona Administrative Code “Guardian Ad-Litem” means a person appointed by the administrative law judge to protect the interest of a minor or an incapacitated person in a particular case. “Incapacitated Person” means any person who is impaired by reason of mental illness, mental deficiency, mental disorder, physical illness or disability, chronic use of drugs, chronic intoxication, or other cause, to the extent that they lack sufficient understanding or capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions on their behalf. “Minor” means a person under 18 years of age, except for those exempted under A.R.S. § 23-905(A) and legally emancipated minors.
