See later operative version added by Sec. 61 of Stats. 2026, Ch. 28.] (a) This chapter sets forth the general responsibilities and roles of the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency, the Department of Housing and Community Development, and the California Housing Finance Agency in carrying out state housing policies and programs. It is declaratory of existing law as to those roles and responsibilities, and shall not be construed as creating additional responsibilities. (b) This section shall become inoperative on July 1, 2026, and, as of January 1, 2027, is repealed. [Repealed (in Sec. 60) and added by Stats. 2026, Ch. 28, Sec. 61. (SB 170) Effective June 29, 2026.
