See later operative version added by Sec. 88 of Stats. 2026, Ch. 28.] (a) For its activities under this division, the executive director shall prepare a preliminary budget on or before December 1 of each year for the ensuing fiscal year to be reviewed by the Secretary of Business, Consumer Services, and Housing, the Director of Finance, and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee. (b) This section shall become inoperative on July 1, 2026, and, as of January 1, 2027, is repealed. [Repealed (in Sec. 87) and added by Stats. 2026, Ch. 28, Sec. 88. (SB 170) Effective June 29, 2026.
