See later operative version added by Sec. 92 of Stats. 2026, Ch. 28.] (a) The agency shall prepare a preliminary budget for the agency’s activities under this part on or before December 1 of each year for the ensuing fiscal year, to be reviewed by the Secretary of Business, Consumer Services and Housing, the Director of Finance, and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee. (b) This section shall become inoperative on July 1, 2026, and, as of January 1, 2027, is repealed. [Repealed (in Sec. 91) and added by Stats. 2026, Ch. 28, Sec. 92. (SB 170) Effective June 29, 2026.
