Mouthpiece

(a) All contestants are required to wear a mouthpiece during a bout and no round shall be started unless both contestants have a mouthpiece. (b) The unintentional loss of a mouthpiece during a bout shall result in a time-out called by the referee during a lull in the action so that the mouthpiece may be cleansed and replaced without delay. (c) A contestant who intentionally loses a mouthpiece may have points deducted or be disqualified by the referee.
