As used in sections 31-62-B1 to 31-62-B37, inclusive: (a) "Adult male engaged in laundry production work" means any male employee eighteen years or older who is engaged in the physical processing of laundry wares such as washing, ironing and any other processing of the laundry bundle from the time when it is received in the marking room in the plant until and including the wrapping of the bundle for delivery. (b) "Employee" means any person or firm rendering service irrespective of the designation applied to the relationship or the manner of payment unless such person or firm (1) is engaged in an independently established trade, occupation, profession or business; (2) is not part of the sales or distributing organization of or merely an outlet for the person, firm or corporation for whom the service is rendered; and (3) is free from control in the performance of such service, both under the contract of service and in fact. (c) "Laundry establishment"includes any place in which any service in connection with any activity of the laundry occupation is performed for compensation, except in domestic service. (d) "Laundry occupation" means, but without limitations: (1) Any activity in the washing, ironing or processing, incidental thereto, of laundry wares and all other operations carried on in establishments engaged in this business; (2) the collecting, sale, resale or distribution at retail or wholesale of laundry service and the keeping of accounts, billing and any other clerical work in connection therewith; (3) the producing of laundry service for their own use by business establishments, clubs, hospitals or other public or private institutions except those completely supported by the state or municipalities. (e) A "minor" is any person under eighteen years of age.
