The Connecticut Department of Commerce is the agency of state government responsible for promoting the economic development of Connecticut. Its three major programs are: Services to foster the growth and vigor of business and industry in Connecticut. Selective attraction of business and industry into Connecticut from out of state. The year-round promotion of tourism in Connecticut. To implement these programs, the Commerce Department is structured into six functional divisions: administrative, business, communication, financial, location and tourism.
