Local traffic only sign (Repealed)

(a) The Local Traffic Only sign should be used where through traffic must detour to avoid
a closing of the highway for construction or maintenance work or for a temporary emergency
some distance beyond, but where the highway is open for traffic up to the point of
closure.
(b) It shall carry the legend road closed (00) miles ahead-local traffic only, or optionally
for urban application, road closed to thru traffic. Both signs shall be designed as
horizontal rectangles.
(c) The words BRIDGE OUT (or similar message) may be substituted for ROAD CLOSED where
applicable.
(d) Where the sign faces through traffic, it shall be preceded by an Advance Road Closed
warning sign with the secondary legend AHEAD and, if applicable, an Advance Detour
warning sign.
