The use of the following colors for pavements shall be limited to the purposes noted: (1) Red shall be used only on the approaches to a STOP sign which is in use 24 hours a day. (2) Yellow shall be used only for medians separating traffic flows in opposite directions. (3) White shall be used for delineation on shoulders, on channelizing islands where traffic flows pass on both sides in the same general direction, and for crosswalks.
