Each signal face, except in pedestrian signals, shall have at least three lenses, but not more than five. The lenses shall be red, yellow or green in color and shall be given a circular or arrow type of indication. Allowable exceptions to the above are: (1) Where a single section green arrow lens is used alone to indicate a continuous movement. (2) Where a variable indication signal section is used to display alternately a green arrow and a yellow arrow.
