(a) All traffic control devices used on road or street construction or maintenance work shall conform to the applicable specifications of these regulations. (b) Traffic control devices shall be installed at the inception of construction or maintenance operations and shall be properly maintained and/or operated during the time such special conditions exist. They shall remain in place only as long as they are needed and shall be removed immediately thereafter. Where operations are performed in stages, there shall be in place only those devices that apply to the conditions present. (c) Signs that do not apply in existing conditions shall be removed, covered, or turned so as not to be readable by oncoming traffic. (d) All dimensions in this part are expressed in English units. Any Connecticut Department of Transportation standards, manuals and guidelines that have been developed in metric dimensions are considered equivalent.
