Site-acquisition grant.

(b) For purposes of determining the amount of grants pursuant to subsection (a) of this section for a priority school district under section 10-266p , the Department of Administrative Services shall allow the reasonable cost, as determined by the commissioner, of acquiring property adjacent to an existing school site as an eligible cost if the acreage of the existing school site is less than half of the number of the acres permitted under regulations adopted by the State Board of Education pursuant to this chapter. (c) For projects authorized, and sites selected for school use, on and after July 1, 2007, remediation costs of the site and site improvements eligible for grant assistance under this chapter shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the appraised value of the site with improvements unless the purchase price is such that the sum of the purchase price plus remediation costs of the site and site improvements does not exceed one hundred twenty-five per cent of the appraised value of the site and improvements.
