2899 DEFINITIONS 2899.1 For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless otherwise provided: Act - the District of Columbia Vital Records Act of 1981, D.C. Law 4-34, D.C. Official Code § 7-201 et seq. Amendment - a document that is attached to an original record or an annotation placed on the margin or bottom of a certificate that is used to correct or complete an item on the original record. Court - the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Department - the Department of Health of the District of Columbia. Registrar - the Registrar of Vital Records in the Vital Records Division of the Department of Health.
