1800. APPLICATION AND SCOPE

1800 APPLICATION AND SCOPE 1800.1 This chapter establishes licensing and other requirements applicable to taxicab companies (“companies”), operators, and vehicles, that are approved under this chapter to provide paratransit taxicab service, including wheelchair accessible service, as a participant in the Coordinated Alternative to Paratransit Services – DC Pilot Program (CAPS-DC), to ensure the safety of passengers and operators, to protect consumers, and for other lawful purposes within the authority of the Commission. 1800.2 The provisions of this chapter shall be interpreted to comply with the language and intent of the District of Columbia Taxicab Commission Establishment Act of 1985 (“Act”). 1800.3 In the event of a conflict between a provision of this chapter and a provision of another chapter of this title, the more restrictive provision shall control.
