5725 RETURNED CHECKS 5725.1 Tenants whose checks are returned for insufficient funds shall be assessed a fifteen dollar ($15) returned check fee, and shall be required to make payment within five (5) working days, from the date of the returned check notice, for the amount outstanding. This payment shall be in the form of a “money order” or “cashier’s check.” 5725.2 Each tenant having two (2) checks returned, within a twelve (12) month period, for insufficient funds, shall be required to submit all future payments in the form of a “cashier’s check” or “money order.” SOURCE: Final Rulemaking at 64 DCR 12956 (December 22, 2017); as amended by Final Rulemaking published at 66 DCR 6831 (June 7, 2019).
