6500 INTRODUCTION 6500.1 A family’s annual income is used to determine their income eligibility for the public housing program and is also used to calculate the amount of the family’s rent payment. DCHA will use the policies and methods described in this chapter to ensure that only income-eligible families receive assistance and that no family pays more or less rent than is required under the regulations.
