11206. WAIVER OF EDUCATIONAL AND NATIONAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS

11206 WAIVER OF EDUCATIONAL AND NATIONAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS 11206.1 Notwithstanding the requirements of § 11202.1 or § 11205.1(a), an applicant who does not meet the educational requirement of § 11202.1 or § 11205.1 or the national examination requirement of § 11203 may qualify for certification under this section if: (a) The applicant has been performing the tasks of a veterinary technician on or during the twelve (12) months prior to the effective date of this chapter; (b) The applicant has performed the functions and duties of a veterinary technician under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian for a minimum of four thousand (4,000) hours accrued within a period of no less than two (2) years but no more than five (5) years; (c) The applicant submits an application for certification no later than twelve (12) months from the effective date of this chapter; and (d) The supervising veterinarian attests to the applicant’s proficiency in specific skill areas enumerated in § 11205.2.
