Scope of subchapter.

(a) This subchapter provides for the issuance of a basic business license to a business located in the District. (b) Notwithstanding whether an individual's employer maintains a basic business license, an individual may be subject to professional and occupational licensure under subchapter I-B of this chapter . (c) The issuance of a basic business license does not guarantee the registration of a trade name under subchapter I-C of this chapter .
