Assistants or agents; supplies; oaths of appraisers; examinations.

(a) The Department of Agriculture may appoint and employ such assistants and agents, and may purchase such supplies and materials as are necessary in carrying out this chapter and Chapter 73 of this title. The Department and the members thereof may administer oaths or affirmations to the appraisers appointed under § 7107 of this title. (b) The Department may order and conduct such examinations into the conditions of the livestock of the State in relation to contagious diseases, including the milk and meat supplies of cities, towns, boroughs and villages, as seem necessary, and take proper measures to protect milk and meat supplies from contamination.
