CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES
September 19, 1939
On August 5, 1939, the National Labor Relations Board issued a
Decision and Direction of Election 1 in the above-entitled proceeding.
On August 18, 1939, the Board issued an Amendment to Direction of
Election.2
The Direction of Election, as amended, provided that an
election by secret ballot be conducted within twenty (20) days from
the date of the Direction among the production and maintenance em-
ployees of the. Alabama Mills, Inc., at the Russellville plant, who
were employed during the pay-roll period next preceding the- date
of the Decision and Direction of Election, including. employees who
did not work during such pay-roll period because they were ill or
on vacation, and employees who were then or had since been tempo-
rarily laid off, but excluding executive, supervisory, and clerical em-
ployees, watchmen, and drink-stand ^ operators, and - excluding also
those who had since quit or been discharged for cause, to -determine
whether or not they desired to be represented by Textile-Workers
Union of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organi-
zations, for the purposes of collective bargaining.
Pursuant to the Direction of Election, as amended, an election
by secret ballot. was conducted on August 22, 1939, at Russellville,
Alabama, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Direc-
tor for the Tenth Region (Atlanta, Georgia).
On August 25, 1939,
the. Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of
National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2,
issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report.
No
objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have
been filed by any. of the parties.

9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations=

IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Textile Workers Union of America,
affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, has been
designated and selected by a majority of the production and mainte-
nance employees of the Alabama Mills, Inc., at the Russellville plant,
excluding executive, supervisory, and clerical employees, watchmen,
and drink-stand operators, as their representative for the purposes
of collective bargaining, and that pursuant to the provisions of Sec-
tion 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Textile Workers
Union of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organ-
izations, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for
the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay,
wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
