5065.1 – Objectives of Post-Review Advocacy (Rev. 28, Issued: 10-21-16, Effective: 10-21-16, Implementation: 10-21-16) The objectives of Post-Review Advocacy are to: 1. Provide QIOs flexibility in resolving complaints in situations when the traditional peer review process did not result in an acceptable resolution of the beneficiary’s concerns (e.g., the QIO completed the peer review but found no Quality of Care violation). 2. Increase beneficiary, practitioner, and/or provider satisfaction throughout the process by resolving complaints that would have otherwise not been resolved to the beneficiary’s satisfaction.
