5075 – Concerns Identified During Other Review Activities (Rev. 28, Issued: 10-21-16, Effective: 10-21-16, Implementation: 10-21-16) QIOs may identify potential Quality of Care Concerns while conducting any other review (e.g., appeal, medical necessity/utilization, higher-weighted DRG, EMTALA). When a potential Quality of Care Concern is identified, the QIO must conduct a General Quality of Care Review. (See §5100.)
