5110.1 – General Quality of Care Review: Review of Folder by the QIO

The QIO should review the General Quality of Care Review information in the folder/file as well
as the information in the CMS-designated case review system to ensure that he/she understands
the specific concern(s) involved and identifies the necessary medical records to be requested.
