Digitization Standards

30.70.1 - Digitization Standards (Rev. 13718; Issued: 04-10-26; Effective: 05-11-26; Implementation: 09-14-26) When digitizing temporary records, you shall meet the following standards in accordance with 36 CFR § 1236.32: 1. Capture all information contained in the original source records 2. Include all pages or parts from the original source records 3. Ensure the digitized versions can be used for all purposes the original source records serve, including the ability to attest to transactions and activities 4. Implement protections against unauthorized deletions, additions, or alterations to the digitized versions 5. Ensure the digitized versions can be located, retrieved, accessed, and used throughout their entire retention period
