80.4 - Oximetry (Rev. 1, 10-01-03) B3-5114.1 Certain blood gas levels are determined either by invasive means through use of a blood specimen for a clinical laboratory test or by noninvasive means through ear or pulse oximetry, which is not considered a clinical laboratory test. CPT code 82792 is used for invasive oximetry. HCPCS code M0592 is used for ear and pulse oximetry. Code M0592 is not subject to fee schedules.
