2715 - Interviewing Residents Using the LTC Survey Process (Rev. 1, 05-21-04) The surveyors interview residents, family members, or legal guardians to evaluate their impressions about the care being provided by the facility. Residents, members of their family, or legal guardians have the right to refuse to be interviewed. Surveyors must respect the confidentiality of information provided by residents or members of their families. Staff personnel should not accompany the surveyors during resident interviews unless their presence is requested by the resident being interviewed, the family, or guardian. During the interviews surveyors should refrain from moving or handling residents. This is to be done by a member of the facility staff. (See Appendix P.)
