5.4.3 – Suspension of Face-to-Face Encounter and WOPD Requirements (Rev. 10190; Issued: 06-19-2020; Effective: 01-01-2020; Implementation: 07-01- 2020) CMS may suspend the face-to-face encounter and WOPD requirements generally or for a particular item or items at any time and without undertaking rulemaking, except those items for which inclusion on the Required Face-to-Face Encounter and Written Order Prior to Delivery List was statutorily imposed or codified in prior rule making, such as power mobility devices. CMS will post notification of the suspension on the CMS website. Upon direction from CMS, contractors shall post notification of the suspension on their websites and may utilize other communication tools to alert suppliers of the suspension.
