SECTION 1. RELIEF OF LIABILITY. (a) For Certain Erroneous Payments.—William A. Cassity of Fredericktown, Missouri, a former employee of the Department of the Navy, is hereby relieved of liability to the United States in the sum of $14,312.01, representing erroneous payments of relocation expenses incident to his transfer from the United States Postal Service to the Department of the Navy in 1984. (b) Credit to Accounts of the United States.—In the audit and settlement of the accounts of any certifying or disbursing officer of the United States, credit shall be given for the amount for which liability is relieved by subsection (a).
