SEC. 1856. SENSE OF CONGRESS ON APPLICATION OF TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE.(a) In General.—Chapter 5 of title II of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2391 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following:“SEC. 288. SENSE OF CONGRESS. “It is the sense of Congress that the Secretaries of Labor, Commerce, and Agriculture should apply the provisions of chapter 2 (relating to adjustment assistance for workers), chapter 3 (relating to adjustment assistance for firms), chapter 4 (relating to adjustment assistance for communities), and chapter 6 (relating to adjustment assistance for farmers), respectively, with the utmost regard 123 STAT. 395 for the interests of workers, firms, communities, and farmers petitioning for benefits under such chapters.” .(b) Clerical Amendment.—The table of contents of the Trade Act of 1974 is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 287 the following: “Sec. 288. Sense of Congress.”.
