SEC. 905. REPEAL OF REQUIREMENT FOR A DEPUTY UNDER SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR TECHNOLOGY SECURITY POLICY WITHIN THE OFFICE OF THE UNDER SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR POLICY.(a) Repeal of Requirement for Position.—(1) Repeal.—Section 134b of title 10, United States Code, is repealed.(2) Clerical amendment.—The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 4 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 134b.(b) Prior Notification of Change in Reporting Relationship for the Defense Technology Security Administration.—The Secretary of Defense shall ensure that no covered action is taken until the expiration of 30 legislative days after providing notification of such action to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives.(c) Covered Action Defined.—In this section, the term “covered action” means—(1) the transfer of the Defense Technology Security Administration to an Under Secretary or other office of the Department of Defense other than the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy;(2) the consolidation of the Defense Technology Security Administration with another office, agency, or field activity of the Department of Defense; or(3) the addition of management layers between the Director of the Defense Technology Security Administration and the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.
