SEC. 552. AUTHORIZATION AND REQUEST FOR AWARD OF DISTINGUISHED-SERVICE CROSS TO JACK T. STEWART FOR ACTS OF VALOR DURING THE VIETNAM WAR.(a) Authorization.—Notwithstanding the time limitations specified in section 3744 of title 10, United States Code, or any other time limitation with respect to the awarding of certain medals to persons who served in the Armed Forces, the Secretary of the Army is authorized and requested to award the Distinguished-Service Cross under section 3742 of such title to former Captain 123 STAT. 2302 Jack T. Stewart of the United States Army for the acts of valor during the Vietnam War described in subsection (b).(b) Acts of Valor Described.—The acts of valor referred to in subsection (a) are the actions of Captain Jack T. Stewart as commander of a two-platoon Special Forces Mike Force element in combat with two battalions of the North Vietnamese Army on March 24, 1967, during the Vietnam War.
